Sociology is the most contemporary and versatile of the Social Sciences. It trains students to grasp social structure, understand social processes, map the dynamics of social change, decipher social interaction and make sense of individual and collective experiences in their social, historical and cultural contexts. Sociology encourages critical thinking by questioning assumptions, challenging stereotypes, and examining social phenomena from multiple perspectives. It helps students develop a more nuanced understanding of the world and resist simplistic explanations of complex social problems.
The Dept. of Sociology was established in the year 2006 in Govt. College Sanjauli.
