The Department of Environmental Sciences is a newly constituted department at Centre of Excellence, Govt. Degree College Sanjauli, Shimla in the year 2023. The Department was formed to offer an Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (Environmental Science) for one academic year. Students enrolling in college are obliged to study for and take this exam during the first year of their academic year.
The Environmental Science course at college seeks to provide students a broad awareness of environmental challenges.It is an interdisciplinary required course with the goal of raising environmental consciousness among students from all disciplines.
Students' interests in a variety of areas are fostered by the Department of Environmental Studies, including ecology, energy resources, biodiversity, conservation, pollution, waste management, environmental policy and practises, human communities and the environment, and global climate change.
