The Department of Botany at CoE, Govt. College Sanjauli is well known for its academic excellence in Himachal Pradesh. Since its inception, it as achieved remarkable milestones in every field. It houses a well-equipped laboratory containing all the sophisticated instruments required for the understanding f basics of Plant Sciences. Beside this, it has its own plant museum containing variety of plant specimens, medicinal plants, and models. The epartment has also maintained the Glass House with variety of native medicinal plant species.
Currently more than 300 students are enrolled in the subject. The students are acquiring new skills and developing better understating of lants y doing hands on training in the laboratories and field. The department is in a continuous process of growth and improvement with the augmentation of various lant pecimens, plant materials from different plant groups, charts, models and Instruments.
The further expansion and up- gradation of laboratories and overall infrastructure is facilitated by the grants from STAR DBT College Scheme.

In Botany has been teaching Botany since 2007.
She has given her services in NSCBM College Hamirpur, RKMV Shimla and GC Theog before joining this esteemed Institution . She has published various research papers in International and National Journals with
good impact factor. Also she has contributed Book Chapters in Books . Currently to upgrade her educational qualifications she is specializing in Ethnobotany and is pursuing Ph.D from Himachal Pradesh University.

Before Joining Govt College Sanjauli, he was associated with Govt. College Arki, Govt College Sangrah and Amity University Madhya Pradesh as Assistant Professor of Botany. He has also worked in the capacity of Guest Faculty in Jiwaji University Gwalior (M.P.). His area of expertise is Mycology and Mycotoxicology.He has published more than twenty research papers in various National and International journals with good impact factor. Beside this, he has also published five book chapters, one book and three general articles in magazines highlighting the current issues in the field of Plant and Environmental Sciences.

Botany in November, 2023. She has done her Ph.D. from Panjab University Chandigarh. Her area of expertise is Stress physiology and Ecology. She has published 7 research papers in peer reviewed nternational journals. Additionally, she has also worked in a DST funded project at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Department says: The World Environmental health day was celebrated by the Botanical Society focusing on the theme Global Public Health on September 26,2023, at Government Degree College, Sanjauli.
