Eco clubs are school clubs that promote environmental awareness and activities. They can include activities like:

4. Promoting non-chemical pest management
5. Promoting the use of renewable energy

Eco clubs can also:

1. Empower students to participate in environmental activities and projects
2. Provide a forum for students to influence their parents and communities

The Eco Club Programme was started in 2001. It's a program that aims to sensitize school children about the environment, its problems, and conservation. The program is operational across the country through school eco-clubs. Over 1 lakh schools are involved in the program.
